Kalispell Regional Healthcare Department Specialist - Human Resources - Logan Health - Conrad, Cut Bank, Shelby in Cutbank, Montana


This position may be located at Logan Health Conrad, Cut Bank or Shelby, with the expectation of traveling to the other locations weekly.

This position must possess a polished, professional demeanor and the ability to connect positively with all constituents of Logan Health - Conrad, Cut Bank and Shelby. An understanding of the norms for handling confidential information and the ability to adhere to those norms is a key attribute for success in this position. The Department Specialist will handle frequent stressful situations with confidence and grace. Coordinates activities related to the daily responsibilities of the Department and assists with various departmental activities.


  1. *Exhibits excellent customer service skills by greeting all visitors, answering questions, and directing appropriately.

  2. *Maintains a professional approach to all issues at all times.

  3. *Answers department phone lines and transfers calls accordingly. Fields calls to the appropriate staff member.

  4. *Consistently recognizes work that needs to be done and completes tasks in a timely manner with little or no prompting.

  5. *Maintains petty cash and postage supplies, reconciles cash and orders replacement supplies as needed.

  6. *Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.

  7. *Competently operates all functions of office equipment. Handles equipment work orders for the department.

  8. *Copies, assembles and arranges all mail and/or courier deliveries. Updates and maintains all office resources, i.e., manuals, rosters, rolodexes, etc. Sorts, opens and routes daily mail received and distributes appropriately for department.

  9. *Maintains Executive Director’s calendar and schedule. Provides consistent, professional, and confidential support to the Executive Director.

  10. *Provides administrative and project support for various initiatives as requested and approved by Executive Director. Serves as API timekeeper for department as assigned.

  1. Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in a front desk, reception/administrative assistant position required.

  2. Possess and maintain computer skills to include advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to learn other software as the position requires.

  3. Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.

  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.

  5. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.

  6. Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.
