State of Montana Inmate Production Officer in Deer Lodge, Montana

* *INMATE PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR - FURNITURE MONTANA STATE PRISON DEER LODGE, MT MISSION - *Montana Department of Corrections is creating a safer Montana through Accountability, Rehabilitation and Empowerment. If you want to work making positive changes in the community the Montana Department of Corrections is the place for you! *JOB OVERVIEW - The Inmate Production Supervisor will supervise adult male offenders in the furniture program at the MCE Industries Program located at Montana State Prison (MSP). *This position will: * Enforce security, safety, and sanitation regulations. * Direct and coordinate the activities of inmates engaged in the production or processing of goods. * Confer with others to coordinate operations and activities within or between areas and units. * Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals. * Inspect and observe materials, products, work gauges, dials, or equipment to detect problems and ensure conformity to production or processing standards. * Compile and maintains daily records, production reports, delivery receipts, finished product inventory, supply inventory, and other regulatory records. * Provide customers service as necessary to ensure that all customer concerns are met and addresses issues. * Conduct training regarding equipment operations, work procedures, safety, and security requirements. * Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, facility policies and procedures for inmates. * Perform personnel functions, such as hiring, firing, performance management, discipline, monitoring hours worked and attendance for inmates. * Perform management function including hiring, firing, performance management, discipline, work distribution, employee development. * Responsible for the overall operation and supervision of area of production. * Formulate long and short-term goals, objectives, work plans, budgets, production standards, and operational policies. * Assess the viability of additional customer orders to expand a program. *APPLICATION MATERIALS – Cover Letter, Resume, State of Montana Application, References /Applications missing required documentation may not be considered./ / /Materials submitted but not requested will not be considered in the selection process, please make sure all attachments are marked as RELEVANT If another department vacancy occurs in this job title within six months, the same applicant pool may be used for the selection.
