CHASEN GLACIER LLC DA BROWNIES BAKERY First Line Supervisor - Food Preparation in EAST GLACIER PARK, Montana

This is a very fast paced operation in a seasonal, tourist-based business on The Blackfeet Reservation in Northwest Montana. This is a temporary full - time position with 3/4 guarantee. There is one (1) position available from 05/28/2024 to 11/01/2024.

Position includes making pizza,sandwiches,espresso-based beverages,and ice cream along with a full-service bakery. We are open 7 days a week during the season. This is a hands-on position, working alongside other team members preparing and serving food items in the store and bakery. 

The First-Line Supervisor is responsible for personally preparing and serving food, making sandwiches, pizza, espresso-based drinks, serving ice cream, and baking signature items from scratch alongside other team members. In addition, they directly supervise, and coordinate activities of other workers engaged in preparing and serving food. They are responsible for overseeing food preparation and service operations to ensure quality, efficiency, and adherence to health and safety standards. 

Additional duties include but are not limited to:

  1. Scheduling staff work hours and assigning tasks. Prioritize,organize,delegate,and follow up on assigned shift tasks.

  2. Training and coaching employees on food preparation, service, and safety procedures. 

  3. Resolving customer complaints regarding food preparation and service.

  4. Compiling and balancing cash and credit receipts at the end of the day or shift.

  5. Developing departmental objectives, budgets, policies, procedures, and strategies.

  6. Recommending measures for improving work procedures and worker performance to increase service quality and enhance job safety.

  7. Responsible for the preparation of all pizza menu items according to recipe and will supervise self and staff to ensure the highest level of quality, efficient production, presentation, and consistency.

  8. Maintains an atmosphere of professionalism and teamwork among all members of the staff.

  9. Maintaining proper inventory levels. This includes ordering and rotating stock from multiple vendors to maintain food quality and safety. Identify and maintain accurate pricing.

  10. Creating business forms,menus,receipts and excel spread sheets in applicable computer programs.

  11. Responding to customer emails and calls throughout the day

  12. Assist with room reservations and calendar systems.

  13. Baking signature items from scratch from provided ingredients and recipes.

  14. Maintain spacing,cleanliness and orderliness of the store. Keep the counters, shelves, and stocked areas neat and clean to include mopping floors and dusting of shelves and merchandise. Cleaning bakery and store space along with washing dishes and kitchen equipment. Maintain cleanliness of bathroom areas.

  15. Fill in for absent employees on occasion.

  16. Analyzing sales data and implementing strategies to increase revenue and customer satisfaction.

  17. Developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure efficient operations and compliance with health and safety regulations.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to execute each of these requirements. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability needed for the position.

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent

  2. 9-12 Months prior experience in the direct preparation and serving of foods in a commercial bakery or delicatessen

  3. 21 years of age or older

  4. Able to maintain confidentiality

  5. Able to understand and follow oral and written instructions with speed and accuracy

  6. The ability to work harmoniously with others and to communicate effectively,concisely and accurately (both orally and in writing) with employees and customers

  7. Able to lead in the planning and preparing of food and bakery items as part of the team

  8. Able to carry out the general duties of the manager in his/her absence
