TOWN OF FAIRVIEW Patrol Officer-Fairview Police-part time in FAIRVIEW, Montana
The Fairview Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Patrol Officer -Part time. Position is open from 01/03/2023 and closing date is to be determined. MT Post certified or equivalent. Minimum Qualifications: * All public safety officer positions have minimum requirements established by Montana law and the Montana public Safety Standards and Training(POST) Council An Applicant: * Must have satisfactory completion of the MLEA Basic or equivalent if certified in another state * Be a citizen of the United States * At least 18 years of age * Be fingerprinted and subject to a background check to disclose any criminal records * Not have been convicted of a crime for which he or she could have been imprisoned in a federal or state penitentiary * Be of good moral character, as determined by a thorough background investigation * Be a high school graduate or have passed the general education development test and have been issue an equivalency certificate by the superintendent of public instruction, an appropriate issuing agency, another state or the federal government * Meet any additional qualifications established by the POST Council General Duties: Under general supervision, to perform law enforcement and crime prevention work for the protection of life and property; to maintain order, enforce laws and ordinances, protect life and property within the Town by performing a combination of duties, suppressant crime patrol, directing traffic, issuing citations, summonses, investigation traffic accidents, apprehending and arresting suspects, processing prisoners, and protecting crime scenes; and to perform general and specific assignments from superior officers in accordance with established rules and procedures; provide quality police service to all citizens, visitors, and businesses in an efficient and professional manner. Perform other duties as required. Must have the ability to work any assigned shift(s) according to the needs of the Town. Officers hired by the Town of Fairview are subject to call back and must reside within a 15 minute response time of the Town unless other accommodations are approved by the Chief of Police and the Town Council.
