AEM - HEAD START Cook Assistant in GLASGOW, Montana
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE: *High School diploma or equivalent *Some experience with food preparation and USDA requirements *Knowledge of food preparation techniques and appropriate food storage *Knowledge of the state and federal regulations pertaining to sanitation and food service, and/or willing to acquire this information *Knowledge of USDA program feeding requirements, and/or willing to acquire this information *Ability to relate well to, coordinate and communicate effectively with staff members and with children/families of low income and varied backgrounds *Ability to assist cook in providing accurate records to designated staff *Ability to work effectively with cook and other staff *Ability to lift up to 50 pounds *Ability to take direction and be flexible in food preparation *Ability to assist head cook in following the established system regarding cleaning to ensure that the kitchen and storage rooms are kept in a clean and sanitary manner *Ability to maintain confidentiality *Ability to pass pre-employment drug testing and background check *Experience in food procurement is preferred DUTIES INCLUDE: *Assist in preparation and serving of meals and snacks *Facilitate food related activities within the classroom *Contribute to the smooth function of the kitchen *Adhere to health and food safety codes and strict cleanliness of the kitchen and food storage areas *General cleaning and maintenance duties Part-time, seasonal position; working 25 hours per week. Will work five hours a day, Monday - Friday, on days school is in session. $10.26 per hour and up, depending on experience.
