AEM - HEAD START Cook in GLASGOW, Montana

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE: *High School diploma or equivalent *Knowledge of food preparation techniques Knowledge of appropriate food storage *Some knowledge of the basics of supervision *Knowledge of the state and federal regulations pertaining to sanitation and food service *Knowledge of USDA program feeding requirements *Ability to relate well to, coordinate and communicate effectively with staff members and with children/families of low income and varied backgrounds *Ability to provide accurate records to designated staff *Ability to work effectively with staff, children and parents, and to supervise the Kitchen Aide *Ability to lift up to 50 pounds *Ability to bend, stoop, sit on the floor and other activities as they pertain to kitchen work, and working with preschool aged children *Ability to take direction and prepare meals according to the guidance provided by the nutritionist *Ability to be flexible in food preparation *Ability to organize and direct all kitchen activities *Ability to maintain strict confidentiality *Knowledge and abilities are typically acquired through a combination of training and experience in the field of food service is preferred *Minimum of one-year experience with food preparation and USDA requirements preferred *Experience in food procurement is preferred DUTIES INCLUDE: *Responsible for preparation and serving of meals using the Child Adult Food Care Program (CACFP) and Head Start Performance Standards guidelines *Facilitation of food related activities within the classroom *Ensure the smooth function of the kitchen, adherence to health and food safety codes and the strict cleanliness of the kitchen and food storage areas Full-time, seasonal position, Monday - Friday, on days school is in session. Pay starts at $10.83 per hour. Open until filled.
