DAWSON COUNTY DOMESTIC VIOLENCE PROGRAM Advocate / Outreach Coordinator in GLENDIVE, Montana
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
- Effective use of computer, utilizing Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint
- Ability to maintain standards of confidentiality and integrity; to communicate effectively orally and in writing; to follow verbal and written instructions; and to establish effective working relationships with fellow employees, public officials and the general public
- Personal vehicle, valid Montana drivers license and automobile liability insurance
- Ability to pass criminal background check
- Ability to attend trainings on domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking
- Ability to serve on-call with our crisis line
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team environment
- Ability to travel throughout Dawson, Prairie and Wibaux counties
- Human service experience working with domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking victims preferred
- The above knowledge, skills and abilities are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma and college course work, preferably a Bachelor's degree in human services
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Attend domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking trainings
- Participate in group projects and collaborations
- Meet with community professionals to establish safe meeting areas in Terry, Wibaux, Richey and Lindsay
- Meet with victims in the outlying service areas when requested to provide direct advocacy services
- Track data and complete required progress reports
- Facilitate and/or assist with DCDV support groups
- Complete client intake, follow up forms and call sheets for entry into database
Part-time position, hours and days vary and will be discussed at interview.
$14.00 - $15.00 per hour, depending on experience.
