DAWSON COUNTY Building & Grounds Manager in GLENDIVE, Montana

ABOUT THE POSITION/DEPARTMENT: The Dawson County Building and Grounds Department is responsible for a wide variety of infrastructure projects and maintenance along with vehicle, building and grounds maintenance. The Building and Grounds Department provides, supports and/or oversees the custodial services, grounds keeping, snow removal and facility maintenance of all County owned buildings and grounds. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The job requires education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma or GED. An Associate's degree and five years' experience in computers, biology and engineering and wastewater/water treatment is preferred. Two (2) years at a supervisory level is preferred. Significant related coursework or graduation from an accredited college or university with a related degree is desired. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: *Plan, administer, organize, and implement infrastructure activities associated water and wastewater systems within the County, which includes issuing and reviewing permits, collecting fees, enter computer loggings, maintain 24 hour emergency status, clear line blockage, inspect and repair systems and related mechanisms, respond to questions and complaints, disconnect water systems on vacated house and delinquent users, prepare and monitor budgets, compile data assessment, generate and maintain records and accounts, oversee billing, consult with engineers meet DEQ regulations and codes, create contracts, determine load factors, oversee removal/relocation/new placement of street lights, oversee agreement between utility company and county, projects irrigation needs, take water and chlorinate samples and reading on wells and reverse osmosis systems, aid in emergencies in any of the districts. *Supervises employees and oversee all personnel functions, including hiring, training, corrective action, disciplinary, termination, and grievances. Conduct management analysis of collection, transfer, and operations to ensure maximum efficiency within the use of current staffing levels. *Prepare reports for the county commission and/or other appropriate boards and present items for consideration on a wide variety of issues related to infrastructure, operations and public health. *Conduct on-site investigations and responds to public inquiries and complaints.
