Glendive Medical Center Cardiac Rehab RN in Glendive, Montana

The Cardiac Rehab RN will carry out, maintain, and monitor all functions of the Cardiac Rehab program.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

The Cardiac Rehab RN will supervise all Cardiac Rehab participants and ensure they are making safe progression through the program. The Cardiac Rehab RN will work collaboratively with the Rehab Services staff person to perform the day-to-day operations of the Cardiac Rehab service. The Cardiac Rehab RN will report directly to the Cardiac Rehab Program Manager.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Monitors patients' telemetry, blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen saturation while the patients are participating in Cardiac Rehab.

  • Obtains and records patient identification, medical history, or test results.

  • Explains procedures to patients to obtain cooperation and reduce anxiety. Monitors the patient's comfort and safety during Rehab program, alerting physicians to abnormalities or changes in patient responses.

  • Provides patient education to enhance the patients' success in the program.

  • Attaches appropriate monitoring equipment for the level of rehab the patient is participating in.

  • Checks, tests, and maintains equipment, to ensure proper operation.

  • Supervises or trains other Cardiac Rehab staff or students.

  • Maintains all appropriate records, submits all reportable data, and communicates with patients' healthcare providers as needed.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Adept at cardiac monitoring.

  • Must have active listening skills during patient interactions.

  • Should be a skilled critical thinker who can monitor patients and observe nuanced changes.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

    Education and Experience:

  • Active RN license; BSN preferred.

  • ACLS certification.

  • Experience in cardiac care is valuable in this role.

    Physical Requirements:

  • Able to demonstrate exercises and use of cardiac rehab equipment.

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift to 15 pounds.
