Montana- Dakota Utilities Environmental Technician I in Glendive, Montana

Description

Responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day-to-day work routine for self and others. Performs a variety of technical duties for environmental compliance and offers support to environmental specialists and manager. Performs leak detection surveys and emissions testing at Company facilities and manages data required for environmental regulatory reporting. Works with operations teams to verify leak repairs and emission limit compliance in accordance with environmental regulations and Company policies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A working knowledge of environmental monitoring and sampling procedures normally acquired through completion of an associate degree in a technical curriculum.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must take all measures necessary to protect networks, devices, programs and data from cyber-attack, damage or unauthorized access.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, no sponsorships considered.
  • Subject to pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
  • Required to maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Requires extensive travel (50% +).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Working knowledge of gas transmission facilities.
  • Optical Gas Imaging survey and/or stack testing experience.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Performs leak detection and repair (LDAR) inspections using optical gas imaging camera and emissions stack testing using portable emissions analyzer at Company facilities in accordance with accepted methodologies, environmental regulations, and Company policies and procedures.
  • Communicates survey and test results to environmental and operations personnel and maintains records of leaks and emissions tests in Company work management system.
  • Provides detailed documentation and reports for LDAR monitoring surveys and emissions tests for future reference and follow up by Company personnel or for submittal to State and Federal regulatory agencies.
  • Calibrates, maintains, and operates assigned monitoring and testing equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications, environmental regulations, and Company policies and procedures.
  • Assists in monitoring and modifying the Company work management system work orders and attributes.
  • Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned.
