N TRIANGLE RANCH General Ranch Hand in GLENDIVE, Montana

Temporary full time from 2/15/2023 - 12/14/2023 This position will require worker to perform a variety of duties related to the production of crops and cattle. Duties related to the production of livestock will include the following: check physical characteristics, observe general condition of livestock and apply the appropriate care; examine animals to detect illness/injury/disease, rate of weight gain to determine delivery time, assist in delivery and calving, apply or administer medications/vaccines, mix feed/additives feed/water; assist with moving livestock as needed; Clean/disinfect livestock corrals/stalls/sheds. Worker must have knowledge and experience working with cattle in a gentle manner. Worker will assist with maintaining fences/corrals as needed throughout the season. General farm work will include making minor mechanical adjustments/repairs on farm machinery throughout the season. Perform general cleanup of farm acreage; drive, load/unload trucks. Worker will assist in planting and harvesting spring and winter wheat, barley, peas and corn as well as the chopping of silage. Worker will need a working knowledge of the following equipment: swather, baler, skid steer, 4-wheeler, manure spreader and tractor. Clean and store equipment at the end of the season. Most duties are performed out of doors, and entail exposure to heat, cold, dust, rain and other environmental conditions common in fields. Worker must crouch, bend, lift and carry items weighing up to 100 pounds. Employer provided items (at no cost to the worker): All tools and equipment necessary to perform the duties assigned as well as transportation between worker(s) on-site housing and the work site. A cell phone or two-way radio will be provided for emergency and ranch communications at no cost to the worker (excluding long distance charges). Hay Harvest - Fencing August ? Sept ? Combining - Sept ? October ? Chop Silage October ? November ? Plant winter wheat November - Wean calves ? move to feedlots December ?
