Glendive Medical Center Long Term Care - Hospitality Aide in Glendive, Montana

Glendive, MT, USA | Nursing – Extended Care | Full Time

The Hospitality Aide will perform tasks that directly support Certified Nurse Assistants (CNA)s in their direct care delivery and are limited to the appropriate scope of practice. Responsibilities include making beds, tidying rooms, delivering linens and other supplies, preparing dining areas and bringing residents to and from meals and activities.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Set up snack cart and deliver to nursing unit; assist Certified Nurse Assistants to distribute snacks, nourishments to residents per established schedules.

  • Set up ice water cart and fill water mugs. Assist Certified Nurse Aide to pass ice and water.

  • Clears tables and picks up meal trays from the nursing floor. Does not feed residents or document meals.

  • Does not feed snacks to residents unless certified through a Feeding Assistant Program to do so.

  • Assist with transporting residents to and from destinations by pushing wheelchairs. Cannot transfer residents from bed wheelchair, bathroom, etc. and cannot serve as second person on van transports.

  • Cleans utensils, wheelchairs, equipment, and work area following established guidelines for sanitation.

  • Demonstrates competency in assigned duties according to medical center policies and regulations.

  • Provides residents and family members with encouragement and support.

  • Responsible for the safety of residents by performing all procedures safely and conducts oneself in accordance with medical center safety policy.

  • Recognizes and utilizes appropriate chain of command.

  • Respects resident's right of privacy always making provisions.

  • Knows policies and procedures related to resident's rights and responsibilities and is responsible for carrying them up.

  • Respects dignity of each resident including those who are cognitively impaired, combative and/or aggressive.

  • Always refrains from using abusive language and/or action in delivery of resident care.

  • Understands the hospice philosophy of care.

  • Provides care in a manner that is appropriate for the resident's age.

  • Remakes beds with clean linen after washing mattress and frame following appropriate procedures.

  • Assists CNAs and Activities Department to set up for activities and assist residents to participate.

  • Removes soiled linen and garbage carts at the end of the shift as directed.

  • Answers residents call lights and relays requests for assistance to a Certified Nurse Aide when appropriate.

  • Keeps work area clean and neat, including assisting residents to straighten drawers, closets, and room.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Shows dependability by being punctual; maintains consistent attendance.

  • Maintains a safe environment for residents and co-workers.

  • Takes direction well

    Education and Experience:

  • High school graduate preferred.

  • On the job training is provided

    Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
