DAWSON COUNTY Paralegal in GLENDIVE, Montana
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
- Associate Degree in a related field, or, completion of a paralegal training program and at least one year of clerical work in the legal field, or, an acceptable combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of research methods / techniques and standard and law library reference procedures
- Understanding of confidentiality limitations
- Familiarity with Montana Code Annotated and implementation of new and amended laws
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Coordinate with investigating officers in preparation of investigative files including viewing evidence, preparing legal documents and communicating with victims and witnesses
- Assist in court hearings and trial preparations
- Assist County Attorney and Deputy County Attorney in criminal, civil, involuntary mental commitments, guardianships, youth court, dependent and neglect, and justice court hearings
- Gather NSF information for victims, record NSF check information
- Draft applications for complaint, warrant and/or deferred prosecution and follows matter through disposition
Full-time position, working Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
$21.12 per hour. Benefits will include health insurance, life insurance, sick leave, vacation leave, paid holidays and Public Employee Retirement System (PERS) with matching contribution.
