Easter Seals Goodwill Northern Rocky Mountain Analyst in Great Falls, Montana
Creates and/or modifies various reports, databases and spreadsheets to enhance the reporting capabilities of ESGW NRM and Easteseals Housing Solutions. Assists with the development and monitoring of the overall company budgets and monthly financial statement analysis. Works with staff to prepare the financial component of grants and related reporting. Helps staff assess the costs associated with a new program and determining the various funding streams of the organization. Works to ensure all accounting functions are accurate, timely and reliable. Reconciles and/or reviews balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis. Performs related duties and undertakes related responsibilities as assigned.
Formulates fiscal standards, policies and procedures to ensure proper recording of all income and expenses in accordance with grant requirements.
Monitors grant expenditures for appropriateness and alignment with budget.
Prepares for annual A-133 audit and agency audits.
Formulates fiscal standards, policies and procedures to ensure proper recording of all income, expenses, assets and liabilities.
Performs statistical and financial analysis for the organization to assist in the planning and decision making process.
Assists appropriate staff with contract pricing, fee setting, bid preparation, grant and new program costing, cost analysis, business plans, etc., consistent with sound fiscal policy and the organization’s mission.
Confers with department heads regarding projected revenues and expenses for the department, personnel changes, additions or deletions, capital expenses, etc.
Assists with preparation of budgets for funding sources, grants, etc.
Accounts for and reviews all Fixed Assets activity and related functions, including capitalization of assets, depreciation expense, retirements, transfers, etc
Communicates effectively both written and orally with customers, other co-workers and clients.
Knowledgeable in Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP).
High-level knowledge of accounting functions and their interaction: General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and Payroll.
Understand tax laws and other federal and state compliance laws.
Proficient in computer operations.
Must be proficient in Excel (to include usage of pivot tables, embedded sumif statements, vlookups, if/or statements and filters)
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge of the budget process including operational, capital and cash flows budgets.
Knowledge of allocation techniques and applications, cost analysis.
Knowledge of and experience with financial analysis performance indicators, variance analysis and budget monitoring.
Ability to move independently or with reasonable accommodation within the facility and community.
Applicant must be physically and mentally able to perform all requirements of the job.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business
5+ years in data analysis and modeling, budgeting and business plan development.
