CNC OPERATORS The CNC Operator will be a member of our production team. Under the responsibility of the Production Manager. The CNC Operator will be responsible for functions for cutting, drilling, coping, and finishing steel profiles and ensuring components of various types, sizes, weight, and thickness meet specifications. Tasks • Perform routine visual inspection of machine and product to detect any vibration problem in the tools and to make sure that the workpiece is adequately lubricated and cooled during the process. • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance. • Perform tasks using the overhead cranes and/or hoisting gear, when required for rigging and moving of material and steel pieces/components of various shapes and weights. • Perform tasks using the overhead traveling cranes and/or hoisting gear, to position/set up material on machine. • Any other related duties, as required and/or special projects as needed. Responsabilities • Safely operate CNC machinery, including mills, precision measuring tools/instrumentation, and related attachments and accessories, in order to perform machining functions such as cutting, drilling, coping, and finishing steel profiles and components of various types, sizes, weight and thickness, to specifications. • Determine the parameters to perform the necessary work, such as tools, speed, temperature, position, gas flow, etc. for cutting and/or, drilling and/or, beveling and/or chamfering activities, in accordance with instructions. Skill Requirements • Strong attention to detail and organization skills • Ability to work with minimal supervision • Effective verbal and written communication skills Knowledge Requirements • Knowledge of various steel products (beams, plates, channels, bars, etc.) • Know how to safely and properly operate overhead cranes and hoisting devices • Excellent knowledge of Computer systems and processes Education / Certification Requirements • Completion of a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machinery training program (Preferred Experience Requirements Physical Requirements Ability to perform the following and sustain for varying periods of time: stand, walk, drag, pull, push, lift, lower, climb ladder or stairs, balance, bend, twist, squat, kneel and stoop on a constant basis; use hands and reach with hands and arms constantly. The ability to maintain static positions such as standing, squatting or kneeling repeatedly or continuously over length or shift. Full range of motion of the neck and shoulders. Must be able to Often lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds; use hands, arms and upper body on a frequent basis. Good hand eye coordination and finger articulation. Ability to perform work in variable climate conditions such as but not limited to, hot, cold, dusty, noisy etc.
