Benefis Health Systems Food Tech 1 - Prep Cook (full time) in Great Falls, Montana
Under the supervision of the Production and Retail Managers, prepares and mixes ingredients for salads, fruit cups, and similar cold dishes.
Duties & Responsibilities
Prepares desserts, salads and nourishments.
Prepares food according to written and verbal instructions including type, quantity and portions.
Prepares fruits and vegetables using kitchen hand utensils.
Prepares and arranges salad ingredients in an appetizing manner.
Mixes salad dressing and sauces.
Prepares individual fruit dishes for meals.
Prepares tables for catering events according to requests.
Maintains work area in a neat, clean and orderly manner.
Prepares special diet foods as needed.
Works on the tray line as necessary.
Participates in departmental performance improvement activities.
Maintains a good working relationship both within the department with other departments.
Trains other Nutritional Services workers in department procedures.
Runs cash register in hospital cafeteria.
Observes infection control practices at all times.
Demonstrates the ability to deal with pressure to meet deadlines, to be accurate, and to handle constantly changing situations.
Demonstrates the ability to deal with a variety of people, deal with stressful situations, and handle conflict.
Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
High school graduate or equivalent.
Previous hospital and food service experience.
