Opportunities, Inc.Job Announcement: Head Start DirectorLocation: Great Falls, MT Salary: Grade 12 Agency Wage Scale, Full Benefits, Annual & Sick Leave, Holiday Pay.Open: August 22 through September 10, 2024, at 4:00 pm or until filled.Position Overview: The Head Start Director is responsible for the overall leadership, administration, and management of the Head Start program. This role requires ensuring the delivery of high-quality comprehensive services to eligible children and families. The Head Start Director will lead program development, implementation, and compliance with federal and state regulations while maintaining strong relationships with community partners. A significant aspect of this role involves comprehensive grant and budget oversight to ensure the effective and efficient use of resources.Key Responsibilities:1. Leadership and Program Management: o Provide strategic leadership to the Head Start program, ensuring alignment with the agency's mission and goals.o Oversee the implementation of Head Start Performance Standards, state regulations, and agency policies.2. Grant and Budget Oversight: o Manage and oversee the Head Start program’s budget, ensuring funds are allocated appropriately and spent in accordance with grant requirements.o Prepare and submit grant applications, budget amendments, and financial reports in a timely manner.3. Compliance and Quality Assurance:o Ensure compliance with all Head Start Performance Standards, State Licensing Requirements, and Agency policies.o Lead the program's continuous quality improvement efforts, including self-assessment, community assessment, and program planning.o Conduct regular monitoring of program operations, financial activities, and staff performance to ensure high standards are met.4. Community and Stakeholder Engagement:o Establish and maintain strong partnerships with community organizations, local school districts, and other stakeholders.o Engage with Policy Council, parents, and community members to ensure their involvement in program planning and decision-making.5. Staff Supervision and Development:o Supervise, mentor, and evaluate the performance of program management and administrative staff.o Promote professional development opportunities to enhance staff skills and knowledge.6. Strategic Planning and Program Development:o Lead the development and implementation of program goals, objectives, and strategic initiatives.o Analyze program data to inform decision-making and drive program improvement.o Identify and pursue opportunities for program growth and expansion.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, Public Administration, or a related field.Minimum of six years of experience in managing early childhood education programs, including Head Start.Demonstrated experience in grant writing, budget management, and financial oversight.Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards, state licensing regulations, and early childhood best practices.Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and community stakeholders.
