North 40 Outfitters in Great Falls, MT is looking to hire a Full-Time Salaried Human Resources Generalist to join our team.  We believe that each team member plays a vital role in the success of our company.  We are looking for authentic and enthusiastic people who love our lifestyle and believe in service before self.  As a Human Resources Generalist you will be responsible for providing comprehensive HR support with a special emphasis on leave of absence administration and workers' compensation management. This role will ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and company policies, and provide guidance to employees and managers.

This full-time position requires the ability to work on-site and all scheduled shifts between the business hours of Mon-Fri 8 am to 5 pm.  As this is a salaried position this shift can include working after business hours and weekends and will require flexibility based on business needs.

Leave of Absence Management:

  • Administer and manage leave of absence programs, including FMLA, ADA, personal, and other types of leaves.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local leave laws.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and managers regarding leave requests, procedures, and status updates.

  • Coordinate with payroll to ensure accurate leave tracking and pay.

  • Maintain accurate and confidential leave records.

Workers' Compensation:

  • Manage workers' compensation claims from initial report to closure.

  • Work closely with employees, managers, healthcare providers, and insurance carriers to facilitate timely and effective claim resolution.

  • Ensure compliance with workers' compensation laws and regulations.

  • Conduct investigations and prepare reports on workplace injuries.

  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce workers' compensation costs and improve workplace safety.

General HR Support:

  • Provide support for employee relations issues, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions.

  • Participate in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.

  • Assist with recruitment and onboarding processes.

  • Conduct HR-related training sessions for employees and managers.

  • Support performance management and employee development initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • HR experience with a focus on leave of absence and workers' compensation administration required.

  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, and workers' compensation regulations.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP).

  • Experience in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
