Summary

CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Country Operations Division. We are looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to direct our maintenance technicians in all areas of their jobs. You must be organized, detailed, and have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct maintenance technicians, prioritize and assign daily work orders.

  • Maintain the mechanical integrity of entire facility, develop and implement programs and practices to reduce unplanned downtime and maintenance costs.

  • Maximize the facility’s performance by utilizing a proactive preventative maintenance program.

  • Coordinate and prioritize maintenance activity and / or project activity with Engineering.

  • Determine the most cost effective approach for reliability and longevity of equipment and systems while achieving all CHS safety and compliance expectations.

  • Determine the root cause of premature equipment failure.

  • Communicate and assist the Environmental, Health & Safety Coordinator with areas the maintenance department is responsible for or affected by.

  • Ensure all work practices and equipment performs to CHS safety standards.

  • Facilitate proper training for maintenance personnel.

  • Maintain critical parts inventory.

  • Plan and coordinate plant shutdowns.

  • Rotate plant call-in duties.

  • Cultivate and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • Associate’s degree (additional experience may offset degree requirement)

  • 5 years of experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment

  • 3 years of supervisory experience

  • Experience with industrial equipment (hand tools, power tools, welding and fabrication equipment, forklifts, boom lifts, cranes, switch engines and end loaders),and maintenance procedures.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office software

  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures both hot and cold

Additional Qualifications

  • Familiar with Safety programs, OSHA & EPA regulations

  • Experience in the food processing industry
