PURPOSE:
The Maintenance Supervisor reports directly to the Refinery's Maintenance Manager and provides the necessary support in managing the refinery's management of contractor labor. This role is responsible to supervise 3rd party contractor personnel as assigned to maintenance and small to medium size projects. This role requires technical and field experience for installing, maintaining, and repairing process equipment and facilities. In addition, the successful candidate will possess the ability to work hands on with stakeholders including maintenance, operations, technical, and management personnel. The successful candidate will also be able to evaluate and prioritize issues systematically, to develop contractor work scope, utilize internal approval and work management processes to progress the work to completion, to communicate safety quality, and cost barriers effectively, and to resolve daily issues of contract work onsite.

KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Champions efforts for contractor oversight and demonstrates Calumet Values.
* Works safely each day and holds contractors accountable to Calumet, regulatory and site procedures.
* Serves as a single point of contact for external contractor work for site maintenance and small to medium projects as assigned.
* Holds Contractors accountable to meet Safety, Quality, and cost objectives
* Assists Operations, and Maintenance Department in developing procedures, training, and processes to ensure equipment is maintained within its design parameters.
* Develops and updates contractor work schedule. Ensures adequate coverage for anticipated workload.
* Assigns work to contractors, to produce safe, quality, and timely work product results
* Reviews contractor performance and provides feedback.
* Coordinates with internal customers and stakeholders to address contractor issues.
* Participate in audits to measure the safety, quality, and effectiveness of contractor work.
* Participates in unit outages and TA work to guide maintenance contractor efforts.
* Assists in spare parts review for ensuring equipment maintainability and availability.
* Train on new technologies and methods for maintaining equipment.
* Other activities as assigned by the Calumet management team.

ESSENTIAL ATTRIBUTES
* Able to communicate clearly and effectively with shop floor personnel, vendors, and management personnel.
* Able to develop and deliver a clear and concise presentations when required.

* Familiarity with and drive to learn maintenance and reliability best practices and methods.
* Self-Directed and motivated - Able to prioritize and work towards specific goals and objectives with limited daily oversight.

* Working knowledge of function and design/operation of plant equipment.
* Experience in root cause analysis, strong troubleshooting capability and failure investigation and analyses, developing corrective action plans.
* Knowledge of CMMS and maintenance workflows and data.
* Proven safety experience/training and leadership regarding oil and gas operations including but not limited to: confined space, lock out tag out, hot work, safe work permits, personal protective equipment, and other critical safety procedures.
* Must possess skills in PC Workstation, Windows, and JD Edwards and SAP knowledge is a plus.
* Must process excellent troubleshooting skills and problem-solving skills.

REQUIREMENTS

* Experience supervising maintenance activities within a chemical plant or refinery.
* Demonstrated experience supervising and managing contractors in a continuous process environment.
* Flexible and willing to support off-shift call-in support, must be available to work extra hours as needed and work outdoors in adverse weather conditions as needed.
* Ability to multitask and manage conflicting and changing priorities.
* Effective interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral); problem solving and analytical skills; computer literacy; team player, self-motivated and willingness to provide field guidance.
