MACLEAN ANIMAL ADOPTION CENTER Operations Director in GREAT FALLS, Montana

POSITION SUMMARY: Provides leadership, professional knowledge, expertise and direction in overseeing and managing efficient and successful shelter operations, procedures and programs, financial planning and budgeting, administration, and resource allocation. KEY RESULTS: Operations ? Oversees Animal Care Specialists for compliance of daily procedures. ? Develops annual and multi-year goals and monitors progress. ? Develops, implements, and monitors programs and procedures that maintain and/or improve established standards of animal care including but not limited to safety, feeding, housing, traffic flow, space use, and quality control. ? Oversees medical care for program compliance. ? Monitors and/or corrects programs and procedures for regulatory compliance. ? Directs and monitors facilities and grounds maintenance for cleanliness and efficiency as well as repair and/or updating in accordance with budget. ? Develops/implements and manages safety, emergency and disaster plans for employees, volunteers, and public. ? Directs customer service programs. ? Acts as community and government liaison. ? Participates in programs and activities as an executive team member. ? Performs other responsibilities as assigned. Finance ? Works with Executive Director and Board of Trustees Treasurer to outline a budget for operations and staffing related to areas of supervision. ? Develops a budget and monitors revenues and expenses for compliance. ? Reviews and analyzes financial data for operational efficiency and goal achievement. ? Oversees departmental accounting processes for accuracy and procedure compliance. ? Reports and/or advises senior management of financial matters affecting organization. ? Proposes and oversees capital expenditures and projects to meet budget and timelines. Administration ? Oversees recruitment, hiring, and development of operational staff and monitors applicable procedures for regulatory compliance. ? Assists in development of job descriptions. ? Evaluates staff performance on a regular basis and determines need for performance improvement, promotion, termination, etc. ? Oversees inventory management. ? Monitors administration procedures for efficacy and adherence; changes or replaces ineffective procedures. ? Grant writing QUALIFICATIONS - PREFERRED ? Degree in business management or related field preferred. ? Five or more years of documented professional work experience in not-for-profit organization in a senior management capacity preferred. ? Strong organization, planning, and critical thinking skills. ? Ability to interact with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds. ? Effective oral and written communication skills including proper use of communication tools and technologies. ? Demonstrated ability to gather data, analyze facts, create solutions, and implement plans. ? Computer skills, Microsoft skills and well as point of sale skills. ? Human resources knowledge. ? Knowledge of current applicable animal welfare laws. ? Experience in Vet Assistance. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS ? Good vision ? Ability to hear conversations via phone and portable communication device. ? Ability to sit, stand, and walk as needed ? Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds Salary: $35,000 to $42,000 +/- per year, DOE
