Painters will follow coating application procedure and use proper equipment to paint steel components.Duties Summary/Responsibilities:Report to the Foreman.Follow the coating application procedure and use the proper related forms.Obtains proper supplies to perform the work according to the project requirements.Perform masking according to shop drawings.Painting the steel pieces according to coatings instructions of the projectMix the coating product with the recommended paint ratio and add the correct thinner. Ensure correct viscosity.Adjust the pressure and chose the appropriate spraying equipment.Control of the environmental parameter as required.Execute the Wet Film Thickness (WFT) verification and other proper controls identified to the Route Sheet, when applicable.Follow and complete the Route Sheet and call the inspector when an inspection point is identified.Maintains the work spaces clean and safe. Set in order your work place after use.When instructed, perform the corrections (touch-ups) and repairs.Inform the Foreman of any problems, defects, corrections required, or non-conformities.When authorized by the Foreman, prepare the Declaration of Coating Product.Respect the project requirements and applicable standards.Optimize resources used and minimize the paint losses.Ensure that all customer-supplied products identification are maintain and protected during the production activities.Ensure that we apply the coating “good practices” in a safe manner in accordance with the processes and procedures of the company.All other related tasks and duties.Education/Training and Work Experience:High School Diploma or High School Equivalency (Preferred)Minimum of 18 months of Painter experience in the industrial coating industryKey Technical Skills/Abilities:Excels with touch up painting and recognizing touch up needs.Ability to perform stripe coating, masking, and paint mixing.Paint on their own with minimal supervision.Manage and maintain proper mils, without additional assistance.Read prints for masking.Identify paint problems in process and ensure appropriate corrections.Ability to accurately fill out essential paperwork.Ability to follow direction.Physical Requirements:Ability to perform and sustain the following for varying periods of time: stand, walk, climb or balance, bend, twist, squat, kneel and stoop on a constant basis; use hands and reach with hands and arms constantly. Ability to use tools in an elevated position, above head. Must have the ability to grasp and maintain grip for long periods of time with power tools, such Paint guns, air nozzles, as well as other electric and pneumatic power tools. Often lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds; use hands, arms and upper body on a frequent basis. Ability to wear appropriate respiratory protection on a daily basis.
