EMPLOYMENT IS CONTINGENT UPON COMPLETING AND PASSING PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG TEST AND PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe Processing Assistant assists in any Processing duties, is responsible for the successful completion of the manufacturing portion of the production schedule and identifying quality deficiencies and taking action to correct them. This position shares responsibility for maintaining Pasta Montana’s food safety, quality, and legality program under the BRC guidelines.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Assists in keeping production lines running while keeping down time to a minimum. Ensures products and processes are compliant with all applicable local, State and Federal rules and regulations.Follows and complies with all Pasta Montana processes and BRC procedures.Assists in the successful completion of the manufacturing portion of the production schedule in a safe and orderly manner. Manufactures product following all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Responsible for inspecting the magnets, dumping regrind, and checking the buckets.Provides relief breaks for Operators by operating the presses. Conducts moisture tests and documents results on in-process product. Ensures that quality control standards are maintained by sampling/measuring in-process product. Communicates efficiently and effectively with all co-workers and departments. Prepares dies for die changes by transporting dies and related components from the die room to the press and assists in completing die changes.Maintains and cleans all dies, die washer, and die room in a safe and orderly manner. Maintains a clean and safe work environment.Accomplishes sanitation requirements as directed. Monitors the semolina and regrind handling system, empties the sifter “tailing” canisters regularly and inspects the magnets. Identifies quality deficiencies and effectively communicates them to the Operator and/or Lead. Performs other duties as assigned by the Operator, Lead and/or Operations Manager. QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum Education: Attended High school or equivalent.Minimum Experience: Some prior plant or commercial food manufacturing experience preferred. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of the production principles, processes and good manufacturing practices is helpful. Understanding of personnel and safety standards. Able to function as a motivated team member in a highly dynamic environment. Able to work and communicate effectively in a team setting. Able to learn, troubleshoot and multi-task. Must have basic math skills. Must be trainable, teachable, reliable, honest, trustworthy, and motivated.Other Qualifications: Ability to use computer automated systems and software.
