The successful candidate will be assisting in the support of multi-site infrastructure environment across multiple high performance computing sites.
Supporting existing applications currently used to support the infrastructure, including DNS, LDAP, Nagios, Puppet, Apache, Syslog-g, and related networking protocols and software
Will work with the security team and the infrastructure architect to provide reporting, service monitoring, and component changes
Provide technical support, including documentation, in the management of infrastructure-related software, hardware, configurations, and architectures.
Troubleshoot moderately complex infrastructure-related hardware and software issues
Perform software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages on physical servers and virtual machines
Monitor and tune systems to achieve optimum performance levels
Conduct hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines
Ensure that performance and security of computers meet the needs of network users
May evaluate existing systems and assist with planning long-term strategies
May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals
May serve as a project or task lead

Database administration and troubleshooting
Web server administration
Complex Ansible playbooks
Writing and maintaining administration-level scripts in Python
the use of GitLab CI/CD
the use and creation of containers (i.e. repositories, Podman, Docker)
Kubernetes (container orchestration - practical experience on multi-system scale)
LDAP (monitoring, maintenance, administration, management)
Cloud-related environments (AWS/Azure/Google)
Ability to work within a small team environment
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: BA/BS or equivalent, 5+ years of experience
