CTA Architects and Engineers Substation Electrical Engineer in Great Falls, Montana

This Substation Electrical Engineer integrates an understanding of codes and experience in the design of electrical power substations and / or distribution lines. This position requires an understanding of one-line diagrams, relaying diagrams, control schematics, structural plans and elevations, grounding plans, site plans and construction specifications and contract documents utilizing BIM and Revit and / or AutoCAD design practices.
Qualifications* you will bring to the table:
- Bachelors degree or higher education in Electrical Engineering
- 3 - 8 years of job-related experience including substation and / or overhead distribution line design
- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Safety Code and the National Electrical Code
- Licensed Professional Engineer (or ability to obtain) in the state of the hiring Cushing Terrell office
- Basic knowledge of Autodesk MEP Revit, Auto CAD, Bluebeam, Outlook, Microsoft Office
- Analytical problem-solving skills
- Necessary mathematical skills
- Basic knowledge of electrical substation design
- Knowledge of overhead distribution line design a plus
As a Team Member at Cushing Terrell, you will
- Work with a team in the design of electrical power substations and / or distribution lines
- Produce plans, sections, and details under the direction of the Project Engineer or as the Project Engineer
- Apply an understanding of the National Electrical Safety Code sections for Grounding, Electrical Supply Stations and Overhead and Underground Distribution Lines
- Demonstrate competence in the application of the National Electrical Code with a basic understanding of wire sizing, conduit types and sizing, grounding, clearance requirements, etc
- Demonstrate understanding of one-line diagrams, metering and relaying diagrams, control schematics, grounding plans, physical plans and elevations, and construction specifications
Your pay
The salary for this position is based on the location/s posted. If you are a candidate living outside of (this region/these regions), we still encourage you to apply as salary ranges may differ across states/cities/job markets.
- Expected Range: $82,000 to $95,000 is based on Billings, MT
- The position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus
