Engineer Distribution Infrastructure Construction
Location preferred in Missoula; will consider Hamilton or Kalispell for a highly qualified candidate.
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (recent graduates are encouraged and welcome to apply)
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple conflicting priorities/tasks
- Ability to demonstrate and maintain a good safety record
- Valid Drivers License and satisfactory driving record
- Ability to complete on-call after-hours duties periodically, for one week at a time
- Must reside in the greater metro area to respond to emergency situations and calling personnel out for after-hours activities
- Ability to lift and carry supplies up to 35 pounds
- Ability to pass an employment physical, a drug test and a background check
- Ability to obtain a Professional Engineer's License preferred
- Working knowledge and experience in construction and design preferred
- Experience with SAP, line design and DDS preferred
- Knowledge of International Fuel Gas Code, NESC, NEC, and the DOT. Part 191 and 192 preferred
- General understanding of survey and inspection techniques and microprocessor-based equipment preferred
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Provide engineering design and support for wildfire distribution electric extensions, rebuilds, relocations, and assists with operating electric and natural gas utilities
- Support the distribution underground and overhead infrastructure program
- Supervise projects and oversee contract and company construction crews
- Perform computer related functions such as engineering analysis, drawing, spreadsheets and database compilations
- Compile and write technical reports
- Respond to customers' needs by performing field investigations
- Survey and inspect routes
- Ensure cost estimates meet company standards and current tariffs
- Assist to develop project-specific capital budgets
- Adhere to company safety standards and the Code of Business Conduct & Ethics
- Ensure all actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy's values, mission, and strategic business objectives
Full-time position.
$62,900 - $121,700 annually, depending on experience.
