As an Environmental Specialist, you will be responsible for providing specialized environmental support and expertise to the line organizations at the GSK Vaccines - Hamilton site. This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following: Manage all of the site's environmental permits (eg. air, wastewater, etc.) Prepare and submit required regulatory reports (Air Permit, Sara TIER II, RCRA Hazardous Waste, TRI, Wastewater, etc.) Review and track investigations of injuries, illnesses, environmental releases, non-injury accidents and near misses to ensure that they are effective, and that they identify and resolve root causes. Lead investigations into serious adverse events. Provide timely, high quality EHS technical support. Design, conduct and oversea EHS training. Perform internal and external audits to assess compliance with legal and company requirements and identify opportunities for improvement. Conduct environmental impact assessments to identify the site's key environmental priorities. Establish site EHS policies, objectives, key performance indicators and targets that reflect local needs and alignment with GSK's long term EHS strategy. Develop and maintain environmental compliance systems and programs. Review change proposals (including capital projects and new product introductions) to identify potential EHS issues and participate in their resolution. Monitor and analyze EHS performance and initiate action to support or correct trends. Perform other duties to support the site EHS department as required. Why you? Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: Bachelor's Degree 2+ years of experience in working the environmental field including managing environmental permits and preparing required environmental regulatory reports. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Biology, Safety Engineering, Environmental Science or other science related fields. Master's of Science in Biology, Safety Engineering, Environmental Science or other science related fields. Demonstrated key understanding of regulatory requirements (e.g. DOT and EPA and OSHA rules and regulations) and their application to a manufacturing and laboratory environment, particularly in the following key areas: Environment (ex. waste management, air emissions, wastewater treatment, energy efficiency, and sustainability) & EHS management systems. Experience with Microsoft Office CHMM Certification Why GSK?
