Westmoreland Mining, LLC Laborer in Hardin, Montana

Job Description

Responsible to perform labor tasks on a multi-shift rotating schedule. Duties include manual labor tasks associated with preventative maintenance, housekeeping, and assisting plant and maintenance personnel. Some such duties include using hand tools, power tools, sweeping, shoveling, manual and equipment assisted transportation of material, supplies, tools, and equipment; and other duties as directed by Supervisor(s).

Ability to operate support equipment to include: pick-up, forklift, and skid loader or small loader. Demonstrated work experience in material handling and conveying equipment preferred.

Physical ability to work in cold weather conditions, capable of walking steeply inclined travel ways, and climbing access ladders and structures with multiple stairways.

Comply with all Company, State and Federal rules and regulations.

Job Requirements

General working knowledge and the skill and ability to maintain a healthy and clean atmosphere; to perform sanitary maintenance of offices, restrooms and lunchrooms, general knowledge to operate mobile mining equipment while moving it in and out of the steam bay area. Basic mechanical skill and ability to operate and maintain steam cleaner system and other equipment utilized while performing janitorial tasks. This position requires physical skill and ability to maintain a healthy and clean atmosphere and to perform moderate to heavy labor activities that include repetitive or sustained physical effort, continuous walking or standing, kneeling, bending, squatting, climbing of vertical ladders and equipment, frequent lifting and carrying of equipment and materials from 30 to 50 lbs. In addition, physical ability to work in environmental conditions with significant exposure to the elements of dust, noise, chemicals and fumes and adverse weather, capable of walking steeply inclined travel ways, and climbing access ladders and structures with multiple stairways.

Successful candidate must be able and diligent in using personal protective equipment (PPE) as warranted by job conditions and Company policy. Such PPE includes: hearing protection, hard-hat, respirator, steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and other PPE as required by the Company.

Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record.
