VAN ORSDEL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH Administrative Assistant in HAVRE, Montana
Duties:
- Daily phone or in-person organizational meeting with Pastor (Direct Supervisor);
- Friendly, professional reception of members, visitors & vendors;
- Draft, compile & publish monthly newsletter;
- Typing & printing weekly service bulletins, brochures & booklets;
- Prepare annual church reports and meeting minutes;
- Manage and refer incoming calls, e-mail, faxes, mail & special deliveries;
- Maintain attendance and membership records;
- Oversee repair, maintenance, replacement & usage of all office equipment;
- Assist ordering office supplies as needed;
- Train/help staff, members & volunteers in use of office equipment;
- Maintain and update church calendar of events;
- Maintain any Church Social Media Pages, referring requests to Pastor;
- Work with Pastor and Trustees for building use for church & public events;
- Greet and process requests from disadvantaged individuals in a polite and professional manner, contacting Pastor or Missions representative to fulfill these requests
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED, ability to communicate orally & in writing, attention to detail, accuracy, timeliness, ability to maintain confidentiality, tact, patience, ability to work with variety of committees & people. Must have excellent telephone skills. 2 years office experience is desirable, including good computer skills. Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel & Publisher) and Social Media skills required.
Part-time: Minimum 9 hours per week Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 9:00 am - Noon
