Diesel Mechanic POSITION SUMMARY: Our company is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to join our team. While this role focuses on diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues, our ideal candidate is also comfortable working as a technician who can diagnose and repair issues in older equipment. In addition to making repairs, you will also be responsible for performing preventative maintenance on diesel engines, brakes, transmission, and other systems. Applicants need a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) and must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test. Wage: $14.00 - $18.00 an hour depending on experience Location: Big Equipment, 1287 US-87, Havre, MT 59501 Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PM Benefits Available: Vacation Time, employee discount Diesel Mechanic Duties and Responsibilities: Diagnose and repair issues in diesel engines Diagnose and repair issues with hydraulics, brakes, transmission, steering, and other systems Perform preventative maintenance Perform welding or fabrication tasks on trailers and other equipment as necessary Prepare work orders Maintain a clean and safe workplace Writing detailed description of work completed Parts Specialist Requirements and Qualifications High school diploma or GED certificate (preferred) Valid Driver's License Diesel technician or mechanic degree is a plus Experience with small diesel engine repair Some welding experience required Mechanical skills Basic computer skills Basic math skills How to Apply: Please turn in a generic application in person, or email janaes@bigequipment.com.
