Brief Position Overview

Montana State University-Northern Office of the Registrar is seeking a professional to start immediately. This full-time, benefits eligible position works onsite at the MSU -Northern campus located in Havre, Montana.

The Dual Enrollment Specialist will develop relationships with school counselors and high school students. This position is responsible for reviewing and processing all Dual Enrollment applications and registrations. This position will also work with MSU -Northern faculty and surrounding high school faculty in creating class offerings, as well as campus staff to ensure that Dual Credit students are receiving appropriate support from the university. The Dual Enrollment Specialist will be expected to work flexible hours on certain occasions, and to serve on committees in the university community. This position will also require some travel. This position will also be responsible for Veterans’ Certification each semester, oversight of the Veteran’s Lounge and assisting in Veteran’s programming. This position will also serve as back up processor in times of need, an example would be Free Application week. Responsibilities include outreach, documenting, following procedures, and promptly responding to customers. This position will enforce policies as needed. Duties and decisions are accomplished with minimal supervision.

Position Details

General Statement

The Dual Enrollment Specialist will develop relationships with school counselors and high school students. This position is responsible for reviewing and processing all Dual Enrollment applications and registrations. Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Perform all duties in a timely manner while maintaining quality customer service to students, faculty, staff, and education partners at the secondary schools.

  2. Facilitate the development of one-to-one relationships between MSUN faculty and secondary partners for dual enrollment across the curriculum.

  3. Serve as a liaison between dual enrollment students and support services (e.g., OTLE , Accessibility Services) to proactively ensure student success.

  4. Actively develop relationships with secondary partners and assist dual enrollment students and secondary schools with regards to admission, registration, and fee payments.

  5. Provide an MOU to each partner school each year.

  6. Request stipends for secondary teachers who meet concurrent enrollment requirements.

  7. Coordinate Class 8 licensing for university faculty as needed.

  8. Keep dual enrollment students and high school counselors up to date on deadlines, offerings, early alerts and general assistance in all area.

  9. Collaborate with Dean of Learning Excellence & Sponsored Programs to ensure that dual-enrollment related Perkins objectives are met.

  10. Veterans’ Certification- Work with the Veterans’ Administration to ensure that veterans are receiving the appropriate benefits; advise students as to benefits, assist students in finding appropriate resources on campus for academic, personal, and financial needs.

  11. Analyze information from the veterans’ association and communicate it to the students, faculty, and staff.

  12. Work with business office and financial aid personnel to make sure that appropriate funding is applied to student accounts.

  13. Maintain files and certify veterans’ coursework each term.

  14. Answer general questions about MSU -Northern, academic polices and regulations.

  15. Provide back up processing of university student applications at peak times; such as free college application week.

  16. Become familiar with the process for an applicant to become an admitted student to MSU -Northern.

  17. Assist Registrar as needed.

Title IX Coordinator

The Title IX Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the University’s compliance with federal and state discrimination and harassment laws, including Title IX. The Title IX Coordinator oversees compliance with the University’s Discrimination and Grievance Policy. Specifically, the Title IX Coordinator:

  • Coordinates educational programs and trainings regarding discrimination and harassment prevention for students and employees;
