Northern Montana Hospital Inpatient Coder - FT in Havre, Montana
Inpatient Coder - FT The Inpatient Coder shall work under the direction of the Coding Supervisor, and the Director of Health Information Management. The candidate shall work with Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), International Classification of Diseases-Current Version (ICD-10) and Diagnosis Related Grouping (DRG). Other duties include processing Inpatient or Observation level accounts; evaluating the documentation and assign correct CPT codes for evaluation and management levels; assign appropriate ICD-10 diagnosis code(s) to accurately support the need for each service. Additionally, the candidate shall provide outstanding customer service to internal departments; respond timely to coding review requests/inquiries, as well as complete other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
1) Five years of acute coding experience required.
2) Certification as CCS, CCS-P, or CIC is required.
3) Able to multitask with many interruptions.
4) Written and oral communication skills.
5) Ability to comprehend, train and apply given information.
