Brief Position Overview
The Office of Recruiting at Montana State University-Northern ( MSUN ) is currently accepting applications for a Recruiting Specialist.
The Office of Recruiting at MSU -Northern is a fast-paced, high-performing, goal-oriented environment that seeks to engage prospective students, their families, and other stakeholders in events that showcase the exceptional quality education that MSUN provides and to do so through events on-campus, off-campus, and virtually. The individual assigned to this position will be a motivated self-starter who can work independently without close supervision, be a part of a team in an effective and professional manner, and work collaborative across the university.

Position Details
General Statement
Duties and Responsibilities
Working to build relationships with prospective students, high school counselors, teachers, and others on an information-sharing basis
Maintaining current knowledge of university academic programs and admissions standards
Traveling extensively (approximately 25 weeks out of the year) from August through May; travel includes in-state and out-of-state destinations
Providing campus tours to prospective students and their families as well as assisting prospective students through the application and admission process
Processing official documents as needed
Entering data
Using Customer Relationship Management ( CRM ) software for student contact management and communication
Assisting with on-campus programs including representing MSU -Northern at university and community events.
In addition, this position
Uses Banner for data processing
Works with other institutional departments to keep current about academic program information, departmental policies and procedures, and student activities
Works with institutional committees
Performs other duties to support the mission and goals of the institution
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Bachelor’s degree, OR
Associate’s degree with work experience that demonstrates excellent communication skills
Current and valid Montana driver’s license or the ability to obtain one within a month of hire
Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Experience working with students on campus or with other organizations
Knowledge or experience using Banner or similar database
Knowledge or experience using Anthology Reach or a similar CRM
Experience planning and coordinating projects and events
Demonstrated excellent communications skills
Sales experience

Represent the department and the university in a professional manner at college fairs, high school visits, community events, and other recruitment activities
Demonstrate effective time management skill and ability to meet deadlines
Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other software programs
