The New Graduate Orientation Program is designed to ensure new graduate nurses at Northern Montana Hospital have a successful transition from the classroom to the workforce. Its design includes classroom teaching and hands on instruction from experienced RNs. New graduate RNs will have the opportunity to orient to our Acute and Long-Term Care facilities, and spend several shifts in CCU, ER, and LDRP. The length of orientation varies with education, clinical experience and identified learning needs of the individual nurse. At the conclusion of the orientation program, graduates are able to apply for open positions in the facility. The orientation program objectives include development of clinical and critical thinking, validation of basic nursing concepts, socialization and professional development. Graduate nurses will gain greater confidence, competence and mastery of ability to perform nursing duties. The orientation program focuses on clinical competence, while integrating our values of compassion, trust and teamwork. New Graduate Nurse Orientation Requirements: Applicants must have graduated from an accredited school of professional nursing. Apply on-line or submit a Change of Position request to Employee Services. Applicants must obtain an RN license from the State of Montana prior to the July 9, 2018 New Graduate Program start date. Graduate nurses will have the opportunity to begin their professional nursing career in a supportive environment committed to mentoring, coaching and learning.
