Smartronix is looking for a Business Development Analyst to provide direct support to our Corporate Growth Office. Range of support will include conducting business intelligence and opportunity research; updating and maintaining required business development records and pipeline reports; assisting the Capture/Sales Manager in facilitating communication with external teaming partners during the capture and Bid & Proposal phases; and assisting with ongoing capture efforts. Additionally, the Analyst will conduct research and gather market information on potential clients and competitors to identify opportunities that align with the business development strategy. This individual is expected to research and draft portions of narratives and supporting documents for assigned bids, including new opportunities, rebids, and renewals of existing programs. Candidate also may attend conferences/events and assist the sales team with customer meetings. Essential Functions + Conducts background research and competitor analysis using GovWin, Bloomberg,, and other business intelligence platforms for specific opportunities and participates in assessments as needed. + Conducts general market research on potential clients and competitors and contributes to identification of potential opportunities. + Updates and maintains business development-related information on knowledge management systems, including SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Salesforce, and other business systems. + Contributes to design and strategy development for assigned opportunities. + Provide updates to Salesforce opportunity pipeline based on research performed + Collaboration with Partner Companies when requested by sales team / capture managers + Drafts portions of proposals for assigned opportunities as required. + Serves as CGO Liaison to Company Business Units for business and competitive intelligence as it relates to business development, pursuit, and capture. Core Responsibilities + Works as a liaison from the Corporate Growth Office to the Company Business Units in researching and updating competitor information, agency forecasts, pipeline assessment, and other relevant documents on an ongoing basis. + Assist the Corporate Growth Office, and Company Business Units, in tracking all opportunities under consideration via Customer and Industry Forecasts, GovWin,, and other relevant industry forecasts. + Participates in and leads Black Hat reviews in support of large opportunity pursuits + Helps update opportunity records in corporate customer relationship management (CRM) system (Salesforce) with business intelligence and competitive intelligence information. + Supports Capture/Sales Managers in performing competitive analysis, tracking industry trends, and maintaining extensive knowledge of market conditions. Researches and analyzes partnership development and possible competition. + Conducts research and analysis to support development of market penetration strategies and business case rationale for strategic growth + Analyzes federal budget and spending to provide Sales/Capture Manager(s) with additional insights and trends on new and existing customers + Contributes to the development of effective win strategies that identify the primary actions to maximize win probability and key differentiators and strengths that articulate the value the company offers. + Supports the CGO with market and competitive analysis to help develop strategy and account planning, corporate campaigns, and other strategic priorities Required Skills and Experience + Clearance Requirement: Ability to obtain secret + United States Citizenship Required + Minimum 2 years of experience in market research / business intelligence / competitive intelligence + Experience using Market Research tools such as GovWin, Bloomberg Government, Federal Compass, (or similar) to perform market, opportunity, and company research + Experience using MS Office applications to include Excel, Word and PowerPoint to present and convey research and analysis results + Excellent interpersonal communications skills, to include oral and written presentation of persuasive information Desired Qualifications + Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, business, data analysis or related field + 3+ years of experience in market research / business intelligence / competitive intelligence + Familiarity with Federal Budgets and budgeting processes Vaccination is a requirement of the position per Executive Order 14042.
