Thermo Fisher Scientific Global Product Manager, Enterprise CDS in Helana, Montana

The job:

As our new Global Product Manager, Enterprise CDS , you will be an integral part of our Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Division (CMD) Software Product Management team, supporting our enterprise chromatography data system (eCDS) business. You will focus on identifying customer needs for Chromeleon CDS with a focus on mid- to large-scale enterprise needs, with special attention to customers with regulatory requirements.

You will work closely with the leadership team, sales channels, subject matter experts and the wider product management team to explore new opportunities and drive enterprise features in accordance with the strategic direction of the business.

To be successful, you will need a deep understanding of Chromeleon and its networking and enterprise functionality, with the ability to build a strong connection with our customer base, as well as the Chromeleon sales channels.

This role provides a unique opportunity for you to offer insights and solutions, driving the success of Chromeleon longer term.

We are offering this role as fully remote (working from home), based anywhere in the UK, Europe or North America. Some global travel will be required – up to 25% per annum and including overnight stays – to attend customer visits and user meetings.

Our Organisation:

This position sits within the High Performance Chromatography Solutions business unit, a part of the Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Division (CMD) of the Analytical Instruments Group at Thermo Fisher Scientific .

What will you do?

  • Work with customers, key opinion leaders, leadership team, compliance team, sales and service, as well as various experts across the organization with regards to our growing enterprise customer base

  • Collect Voice Of Customer (VOC) and identify, prioritize and refine features and improvements that benefit our enterprise customers

  • Contribute to the annual prioritization process according to voice of customer, competitive analysis and strategic direction of the business

  • Work with product managers and product owners within our agile software development process to drive successful development

  • Serve as enterprise subject matter expert for partners in the wider organization, support, service and sales

  • Perform/initiate competitive analyses as needed; assess strengths & weaknesses of competing products from customer perspectives. Keep generally well informed about products, tactics, & activities of competing software suppliers

Who we are looking for:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in analytical science or related field, or comparable proven experience


  • Extensive experience in enterprise software product management

  • And/or working experience with an enterprise CDS in a technical role

  • Knowledge of Chromeleon with a strong focus on enterprise needs and features preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work in a complex matrixed environment with competing priorities

  • Ability to develop strong connections with the customer base and Chromeleon sales channels

  • Ability to drive results through competing priorities and complexities

  • Maintain high level of knowledge of lab workflows and software

  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English; additional languages a plus

  • Strong presentation abilities and customer allegiance

  • Ability to travel as needed
