SMX is seeking a Knowledge Manager to provide oversight of our proposal content library, to include developing processes and protocols for storing information, making it accessible, controlling access, and capturing new knowledge. The role will focus on improvement and maintenance of a corporate knowledge repository in support of Corporate Growth Office (CGO) activities, to include business development, opportunity capture, and proposal development. These tasks ensure that all of a company's knowledge assets contribute to its overall success and growth.
Partner with CGO leadership, Business Groups, Subject Matter Experts, and other internal business support organizations on content creation while assessing new submission for reusability and appropriate categorization.
Serve as owner, expert, and advocate of our knowledge management tools, systems, applications
Utilize existing tools, applications, and resources to improve knowledge management framework; develop implementation and maintenance schedule
Identify gaps in current materials and lead creation of new content to fill gaps
Strategize with team members and incorporate client feedback to determine how to improve content
Establish proper distribution processes so that internal customers have information they need to succeed
Monitor usage rates and metrics to evaluate how content is being used
Collaborate with Strategy and Technology team to explore and implement intra-company AI technologies, resulting in the development of AI models (ChatGPT capability for Proposal writing)
Support Strategy and Technology team with training AI models using large datasets and associated training processes to increase accuracy and reduction in proposal writing times
5+ years of direct experience developing and managing corporate proposal development content (technical and management), corporate experience/past performance, and personnel
Advanced written communication skills; excellent verbal communication skills
Knowledge of one or more proposal automation systems (e.g., Expedience, Loopio, Qvidian, etc.)
Minimum 3 years of proposal response experience
Knowledge of and experience with generative AI, specifically in proposal development
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
Ability to foster a collaborative environment that focuses on expertise, communication, and training; and help foster a culture that promotes knowledge sharing
Work with CGO Growth Process Improvement/Training Lead to develop dedicated knowledge management training (e.g., content improvement and maintenance; specific “tools” training)
Supervisory experience a plus
