The Under Armour QA Manager owns Project QA and QA Resource Management for our Global QA organization and supports UA’s Ecommerce projects.
The QA Manager will be embedded at the beginning of projects to proactively develop the quality strategy and test plan through requirement analysis, activity planning, resource assignments, and project QA budget management. The QA Manager will also drive to establish quality best practices, process improvement, and drive forward the discipline of quality across the cross-functional team.
Furthermore, the QA Manager will own performance reviews, mentoring, and management of full-time QA teammates as direct reports. This QA management professional will also own the contract management and procurement process for existing and new consultants assigned to their projects.
The QA Manager will be involved in Global QA org’s recruiting and hiring. This professional will also contribute to improving and developing department standards and operating procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Manage full-time direct reports
Coach, mentor, and support professional development of direct reports.
Conduct scheduled performance reviews
Manage consultants on projects through QA team leads
Manage QA and drive quality on projects.
Develop staffing and budget estimates for full-time and consultant QA for new and on-going projects.
Manage SOWs and procurement process for new and existing consultants
Develop and establish quality strategy and initial test plan on new projects
Drive updating of the quality strategy and test plan through team lead.
Establish and re-enforce quality standards and best practices across cross-functional team
Coordinate end-to-end testing with internal UA orgs and external teams/vendors.
Develop and establish quality metrics and report on project quality to stakeholders
Drive continuous improvement of quality for team, process, and product.
Participate in investigation, analysis, test case development, and testing with the project team when needed.
Manage a project's allocated QA budget for added resources or tools.
Write business cases to request additional project budget when needed for QA or tools.
Manage a project's QA toward the schedule and scope.
Actively contribute to building UA's Global QA organization
Contribute to recruiting and hiring QA professionals.
Contribute to the Global QA knowledge base.
Develop and socialize new or updated quality standards across cross-functional org.
Manage and maintain testing tools.
Contribute to planning budget, resources, and tools needed with QA Director and QA Managers.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

Solid understanding of SDLC methodologies and best practices, particularly Agile SCRUM and Kanban.
Solid understanding of QA standards and best practices.
Ability to create a test strategy and test plan for complex multi-team projects, then socialize the test plan followed by its coordinated execution.
Knowledge of integrating test automation as part of an overall quality strategy.
Significant experience in Defect Tracking and Test Management tools such as Jira and TestRail.
Highly effective and concise communication skills.
Education And / Or Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in CS/IS/IT or commensurate experience.
6+ years of QA testing experience, including integration, regression, load, and UAT across different domains.
1+ year(s) experience managing QA teams and direct reports.
Experience working closely with test automation teams and incorporate their capabilities, automation framework, and tools within the overall quality strategy.
Experience leading QA teams and project quality on web and native mobile.
Experience managing remote direct reports and off-shore consultants.
Experience working with remote cross-functional teammates.
Experience leading projects with 3rd party vendors and multiple contract agencies.
Experience working within a large cross functional enterprise a big plus.
Experience with following tools a big plus:
Atlassian suite of toosl: JIRA, Confluence, etc.
Good to have experiences:
Salesforce - SFCC, SFBM, SFMC, etc.
Analytics, Data Layer Tagging
Progressive Web Application (PWA) and Headless PWA
Internationalization and Localization
Retail IT projects with physical store front aspects to testing
- Travel: 10% of the year.
