Smartronix is seeking a Sr Solution Architect with extensive knowledge of application migration and modernization with regard to cloud services. This person will be tasked with developing an intimate understanding of the mission critical workloads across a multi-threaded, enterprise scale, flagship account. They will support the trusted advisor capacity Smartronix has developed with the client to drive specific strategic initiatives to modernize high-profile, mission critical, legacy workloads. This person will contribute to the strategic account plan to help shape the long-term account strategy. This includes supporting the account leadership team’s technical messaging strategy, meeting with and developing relationships with executive-level stakeholders in both a subject matter expert and business development capacity. The successful candidate will be capable of communicating experience transforming or re-inventing legacy applications leveraging cloud technology and of helping customers develop their vision and roadmap. The ideal candidate will have both a business background that enables them to interact effectively at the executive level, as well as a technical background to drive engagement work with both our engineering teams and customer teams. The candidate can actively participate in the development and review of business and system requirements to obtain a thorough understanding of customer needs in order to deliver accurate solutions. What to expect + Support the full project lifecycle - to include: strategy, design, implementation and automation, as well as production-readiness and documentation activities + Produce high-quality technical design, build and procedure documentation + Support project engagements, work collaboratively with other team members, communicate effectively, and foster team success + Provide transparent and regular status updates to Smartronix Project and Account Management team members + Actively contribute to internal Smartronix efforts + Be able to jump into troubleshooting efforts when asked and as needed + Drive a cloud native, microservices application development approach across an enterprise scale account. + Provide level of effort and duration estimates for client proposal schedule planning. Skills and Experience: + Ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with: + Designing and implementing application solutions + Understanding of designing and delivering with cost in mind + Familiarity with translating customer workloads into micro-service driven architectures + Strong hands-on experience with Python 3x + Strong hands-on experience with infrastructure configuration management platform + Containerization platforms and server-less computing (Docker, AWS ECS, AWS Lambda,) + The design, build, and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines and associated tooling (AWS and third-party) + Software Development Lifecycle frameworks in an Agile software development model + Common CI/CD automation and serverless scripting tools (TerraForm, JSON, YAML, Python, CloudFormation Stacks) + Familiarity with: + IT Service Management and common ITIL Frameworks that support comprehensive infrastructure and application operations support models + Integration technologies that support microservice-based architectures (API Gateways) + Data service architectures that support management and integration across multiple applications + Common data lake and data warehouse patterns and tooling + Common data analytics pipeline patterns and tooling + Source Code and Image Control tooling (Git ecosystem, Artifactory, Maven, AWS CodeCommit) + DevOps pipeline automation tooling (Jenkins, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, CloudFormation, GitHub Actions) + Designing in cost-effective, multi-region BC/DC capabilities + Automated DevOps environments and, where applicable, the integration and automation of business processes + AWS GovCloud + Thorough understanding of the Kubernetes ecosystem and hand-on experience with multiple deployment models (AWS EKS/Fargate, OpenShift) + In-depth understanding of deploying applications fully on cloud-native (AWS) services. + Knowledge of foundational infrastructure components - e.g.: IP networking, VPNs, DNS, firewalling, IAM/authentication, and load balancing concepts + Foundational knowledge of security requirements in highly regulated environments + Experience developing and deploying large, distributed cloud-hosted systems and the required operational models for stable application availability + Experience working alongside a managed services team including the ability to assist with scoping, client onboarding, and ongoing architecture support + Demonstrate the ability to think strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions and work cross-organizationally to build consensus. + Ability to translate customer requirements and needs into proven, fully documented and cost-efficient design patterns + Ability to easily support project and technical troubleshooting as needed + Thorough understanding of designing and delivering with cost efficiency in mind + Proven ability to cleanly document, promote and present your work to other teams and to customers + Willingness and ability to collaborate + Achieve and maintain AWS Basic Qualifications + Clearance Required: None + Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of relevant cloud experience to include 5+ years of cloud, technical or digital business development experience + Excellent verbal and written communication skills + Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills + Demonstrated effectiveness working across multiple business units to achieve results + Experience in working with customers (particularly enterprise) who are deploying cloud solutions + Strong presentation, sales, and negotiation skills; ability to close high value and high profile deals + Excellent business judgement and the demonstrated ability to think and act both strategically and tactically + Meticulous attention to detail: ability to juggle many tasks in parallel without lowering your quality bar + Comfort working with a broad range of technology tools including SharePoint, Teams, Excel, Word, and Salesforce Vaccination is a requirement of the position per Executive Order 14042.
