Job Summary

Black & Veatch has an exciting role for a Solutions Director to lead our New Strategy and Growth Initiatives.

This role focuses on advancing growth initiatives (campaigns) in exciting growth areas such as resilience, sustainability, renewables, electrification, and other emerging client needs. The role will be focused on advancing our solutions to market and working with our local market teams to build a funnel of prospects and help capture the work. Activities include developing strategies and go-to-market plans that link existing and new BV Solutions to market needs. The role will collaborate across the Solutions team, the Governments & Environment sector, and other company Business Sectors as needed. Growing work specifically in the campaigns is the overarching goal.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy Development. Work to advance Solutions strategies, including:

  • Identify new service offerings and markets that address client needs and consider growth and profitability potential. Initiate and incubate future growth campaigns. This includes new and non-traditional revenue stream opportunities.

  • Serve as a Solution Leader and work with other Solution Leaders and initiative personnel to develop and implement growth initiatives. Help facilitate work sessions to identify client needs and develop service strategies, and to launch and drive go-to-market activities (below).

  • Advance sales enablement to the local marketing teams. Outline client needs. Prioritize B&V services that deliver value to meet that need; Engage and manage B&V resources to enable the sell; and assemble overarching qualifications proving we have the capability to deliver that need.

  • Evaluate the overall Solution portfolio make-up and assess against market and operational risks at regular intervals to ensure our portfolio meets changing client needs over time.

  • Go-to-Market Tactical Plans

  • Develop tactical go-to-market plans and track progress for new initiatives.

  • Tie existing group go-to-market tactics and implementation plans to the campaigns and promote consistency amongst the plans.

  • Support existing Solution Directors in executing their individual Solution go-to-market plans.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in utility policy,planning, operations, and maintenance

  • Knowledge of agency purchasing needs

  • Strong business development skills

  • Experience in sustainability, resilience, advisory and consulting

  • Ability to work across multiple teams to influence and collaborate on successful business development pursuits

  • Experience with multiple needs within municipal organization - water, power, transportation, IT, finance, etc..
