Job Description

The Specialist, Procurement is responsible for identifying opportunities for cost reduction; and developing and implementing cost improvement strategies; related to the acquisition and use of 3rd party supplier services and products under the guidance and supervision of a Procurement Lead.

Essential Functions/Core Responsibilities

Identifies supplier-related cost reduction opportunities and strategies on a corporate wide basis and aggressively pursues implementation

Responsible for the management of procurement projects including: supplier selection, development of contract terms and conditions, pricing, licensing, functionality, and product/service acquisition

Communicates new/revised contract and purchase terms to the business unit and user community

Act as a procurement subject matter expert and liaison between business unit management, executives, suppliers, legal, and user groups

Work across the corporate business unit structure to promote sourcing best practices, to ensure their implementation and success

Assist in establishing financial goals and aggressively pursues achievement

Support/Develop detailed sourcing analysis including financial, functional, risk assessment, what/if modeling, and opportunity assessment

Candidate Profile

Bachelor's Degree in related field from a four-year college or university or two to four years of relevant experience preferred

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to effectively present information to internal and external associates

Advanced Microsoft Office skills

Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize projects in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented business environment

Demonstrated ability to take initiative and ownership with focus on continuous improvement

Strong customer service disposition and sense of professionalism

Solid understanding of the organization's business operations and industry. Demonstrated business acumen
