The Professional Services organization is passionate about delivering Salesforce's premier product and project offerings to ensure customers are getting the most out of the Salesforce Platform. We help you plan your strategic roadmap, and we make sure you are building Salesforce so that it’s easy to maintain and adapt down the road, minimizing potential technical debt.

Salesforce Professional Services is looking for Technical Architects (at all levels) to work with our Public Sector customers. In this role, you will be serving as a strategic advisor and Salesforce product and platform expert to the company’s largest, most complex enterprise customers within the following fields:

  • Federal and State

  • Non-profit

  • Education

  • Health & Life Sciences

  • Telecommunications/Media/Insurance using Salesforce Industries (formerly Vlocity)

For each industry under our Public Sector umbrella - please refer to the bottom half of this posting to view our requirements for success in these specialty roles.

A Technical Architect role within Salesforce includes these responsibilities and requirements :

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the client

  • Identify and lead internal critical initiatives to grow the consulting practice; serving as an active contributor to the community’s overall knowledge base and expertise

  • Guide customers and colleagues in rationalizing and deploying emerging technologies that drive increased business value

  • Work collaboratively, having very strong communications skills, especially in teaching complex concepts and creative, prescriptive thinking

  • Identify and proactively manage risk areas and commit to seeing an issue through to complete resolution

  • Manage customer expectations; negotiate solutions to complex problems with both the customer and third-party partners

  • Review and correct project/program direction, approach, and key artifacts to keep programs on track, while ensuring solutions are extendable and maintainable going forward

  • Work closely with Delivery Managers, Solution Architects, and directly with clients to architect technology solutions to meet client needs

  • Contribute to a program vision while advising and articulating program/project strategies on enabling technologies including the Salesforce Platform

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5+ years enterprise architecture or consulting experience

  • Strong application design skills combined with strong data, integration, and security architecture skills

  • Strong presentation skills. Able to effectively present and defend a point of view to a variety of audiences

  • Thorough individual with the ability to rapidly learn and take advantage of new concepts, business models, and technologies

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Able to effectively develop materials that are appropriate for the audience

  • A great listener with the ability to connect with people in diverse roles

  • Proven ability to analyze, design, and optimize business processes via technology and integration

  • Resourceful and innovative thinker who can work through and solve problems

Required Qualities:

Preferred Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent relevant experience required. Experience will be evaluated based on the core competencies for the role (e.g. extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer roles, work experience, etc.)

  • Prior work experience or desire to work with our Public Sector customers - government agencies, non-profit, education

  • Ability to convey and convince customers of best practices at various levels within a large organization

  • Application design and development background

  • Travel may be required and varies depending on the client requirements

  • Strong Enterprise Architecture background would be favorable

  • Relevant Salesforce experience is desired

  • Highly beneficial to have any Salesforce product certifications prior to joining, particularly:

  • Salesforce Certified Administrator

  • Salesforce Certified Advanced Administrator

  • Platform App Builder

  • Salesforce Certified Sales Cloud Consultant

  • Salesforce Certified Service Cloud Consultant

Preferred Qualities:

  • LEADERSHIP: Self-aware; proficient at building strong relationships

  • Inspiring leader: Strong point of view and executive presence. Confident, but not arrogant, a great storyteller

For our FEDERAL AND STATE customers:

  • Familiarity with working in a Salesforce Gov Cloud (GIA1) or Gov Cloud Plus (GIA2) org environments and/or Mulesoft Gov Cloud

  • Key Words: Salesforce Gov Cloud, Salesforce Gov Cloud Plus, GIA1, GIA2, Mulesoft Gov Cloud

  • Knowledge of FedRamp, JAB (Joint Authorization Board) or Federal security processes.

  • Key Words: FedRamp, NIST, ATO (Authority to Operate), P-ATO, JAB, StateRamp, FISMA, OMB, 3PAO, CSP (Cloud Service Provider), MFA, IL2, IL4, IRS 1075, ISO, SOC, SSP, FIPS.

  • Experience with software applications for: licensing, permitting, inspections, grants management, loan management, emergency program management, content center engagement, constituent interactions, 508 compliant applications

  • Key Words: licensing, permitting, inspections, grants management, loan management, emergency program management, content center engagement, constituent interactions, 508 compliant applications.

For our EDUCATION customers:

  • Ability to work with university IT teams, provosts, and leadership through technical and strategic aspects of digital transformations

  • Experience with Org strategy, MDM, data governance and integration of education IT systems (i.e. LMS, SIS)

  • Familiarity with EDA architecture, TDTM, and/or Salesforce Certified Education Cloud Consultant certification

For our NONPROFIT customers:

  • Experience large data volumes in Salesforce along with data warehousing and analytics for nonprofits

  • Familiarity with NPSP architecture, TDTM, and/or Salesforce Certified Nonprofit Cloud Consultant certification

For our Health and Life Sciences customers:

  • Experience and understanding of Salesforce Health Cloud, Vaccine Cloud , Emergency Response Management, and corresponding data models and Lightning Flow (guided processes)

  • Subject matter expert in one or more of the Healthcare and Life Science subdomains (Public Health, Contact Tracing, Payer, Provider, Medical Device, Pharma)

  • Knowledge of Salesforce Integration patterns as well as FHIR and HL7 standards and experience integrating with EHR / EMR Solutions

  • Key Words : Health Cloud, Vaccine Cloud , FHIR , HL7 , Emergency Response Management , Patient Card, Care Plans, Contact Tracing , Timeline

For our Salesforce Industries (SFI, formerly Vlocity) customers:

  • Experience in designing and building enterprise CRMs for telecommunications, media, insurance, health insurance, and/or public sector customers using Salesforce Industries (Vlocity) technology

  • Salesforce Certified OmniStudio Consultant, Developer, and/or Industries CPQ Developer a plus
