The College Board QA Engineer - Financial Aid in Helena / Helena, Montana

This team is currently made up of 30 engineers, a mix of full-time staff and contractors working across various time zones, working on delivering software as a service solution for Financial Aid Management. About the Opportunity You are a highly skilled and motivated QA Test Engineer with a passion for analyzing user stories and creating test scenarios and plans. You develop and execute test cases to ensure software quality, and compliance with User Interface, API, and back-end systems. In this role, you will: Establish testing frameworks, define testing practices, and integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for multiple products Plan and create test data and scripts for:Browser-based user interface systems, Backend services API interfaces Provide guidance to others in carrying out QA duties, while performing technically advanced responsibilities. Establish and maintain technical testing methodologies and processes. Develop test strategies and plans. Oversees the development of and/or develops and maintains test data. Develops functional automation scripts (Selenium RC, WebDriver, and/or SoapUI). Develop and deliver verbal and written status reports on the testing of the features. Work with software engineers and product owners to identify tests to ensure the quality and accuracy of story delivery. Assist in the confirmation of bugs reported from outside sources, document and communicate them to the development team. Verify when resolved. Assist in the identification, selection, and implementation of software tools and technologies, and testing techniques and procedures that facilitate automated testing and quality assurance. About You A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or MIS 3-6 years of experience in software systems, programming, testing and quality assurance Strong knowledge and experience in Financial Aid Management systems Good understanding of HTML, CSS, and browser DOM Experience working in Agile methodologies Knowledge of CICD and DevOps Experience testing code running in Amazon Web Services Excellent oral and written communication skills Must be able to work as a member of cross-functional project teams Excellent problem solving and analytical ability Able to function both with minimal supervision and in a team-oriented unit Deep interest in expanding educational opportunities for all students More about you Experience working in an Agile/Scrum and iterative development environment Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on customer service and the ability to clearly discern client needs Demonstrates ability to solve complex problems using divergent thinking resulting in innovative solutions About Our Culture Our team comprises highly motivated engineers that keep abreast of emerging technologies and strive for technical excellence.
