General Motors LLC Sr Finance Analyst - Close & Consolidations Special Projects in Helena / Helena, Montana

Sr Finance Analyst - Close & Consolidations Special Projects candidate will play a key role in a project to align financial reporting systems with the strategic direction of the business towards an all-electric future. Analyst will have the opportunity to present project plans and status updates to senior leaders in the organization. Role will collaborate with several Controllership, Operating Finance, GBS, and IT teams to segment reporting for electric vehicles and services. Work involves a high level of independent judgment, accuracy, creativity, and initiative.
Collaborate with Controllership, Operating Finance, GBS, and IT teams to evaluate results of the cost allocation frameworks. Present analysis and obtain approvals from senior leaders
Prepare and present updates on a recurring basis to the Steering and Operating Committees
Track status for multiple simulated month-end closes to provide status updates to leadership
Prepare design document for enhancements, obtain support from all required parties by answering and clearing all questions and issues, and conduct detailed testing for accuracy
Review change requests for system feasibility
Collaborate with IT for any upgrades, patches, enhancements and production issues
Prepare materials and conduct training sessions for changes to Country of Sale, consolidations, and reporting
Support ad hoc questions from user groups, primarily during month-end close (e.g. connection issues, access issues, resolving validation errors, etc.)
Participate in all standard, recurring status meetings with CPR team and IT (20 hours per month)
Ensure Global Ledger templates, tables and variants are updated for new Change Requests
Conduct detailed testing for system functionality for all change requests (e.g. full functionality needs to be tested with each Org/Account). Understand any impacts to Country of Sale, Translation, PII and eliminations and determine that the flow of data to GCARSEV is accurate. Engage with Controllership to conduct testing of reporting accuracy
Support consolidation teams with year-end roll forward and post close processes

Additional Job Description
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business
MBA or Masters of Science degree in business field (preferred)
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) (preferred)
Demonstrated ability to work and lead with minimal supervision on unstructured assignments and identify process improvements
Identify, interpret and analyze potential accounting risks and issues
Understanding of and ability to apply accounting and financial reporting standards (GAAP)
Willing to take on additional responsibilities, attend training, and learn new technical skills
Ability to collaborate with business, IT, and data analysis resources to capture, prioritize and document solution requirements, and drive measurable results
