SANS Institute (SANS.org) is the world’s largest and most trusted provider of cybersecurity training, certification, and research. The SANS Institute seeks to hire an experienced Academy Admissions Coordinator to assist in the admissions process for the cost-free SANS Institute Academy programs from lead generation to matriculation.

SANS Institute, in conjunction with the SANS Technology Institute (SANS.edu), have run the Cyber Workforce Academy programs for over 10 years and have trained hundreds of career transitioners to be cybersecurity experts. These programs were developed to help under-resourced candidates earn cybersecurity training and industry-recognized GIAC certifications to get employed in cyber roles.

SANS.org, with the support of the Paller family, has a goal to expand the SANS Institute Academy programs in the coming years. The goal is to triple the enrollment in the Core Academy programs and to continue to expand the partnership programs. This position will work closely with the SANS Academy Admissions and Advising teams to manage the incoming cohorts.

Summary of Position

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Academy Admissions, the Academy Admissions Coordinator will support in-bound and out-bound prospective applicant communication, assist in decision management, and collaborate on marketing and recruitment efforts. This position also serves in a data-processing role, performing duties related to application processing and data maintenance of new applicant files by updating and maintaining records for prospective students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represents the SANS Institute Academies, SANS Mission team, and SANS.edu professionally to prospective students and the general public.

  • Serves as a front-line representative, communicating with potential Academy applicants and students via email, phone, and chat.

  • Records interactions with applicants and update relevant information in admissions systems (Slate, Salesforce).

  • Utilizes Slate and Salesforce to conduct data entry tasks and analysis, as needed.

  • Assists the Assistant Director with application support and decision management.

  • Supports marketing and recruitment efforts, including collecting leads and assisting in the development of informational webinars.

  • Collaborates with the Workforce student management and marketing team, whichincludesSANS Mission team,SANS.eduAdmissions team, Advising team and Career team.

  • Keeps updated on Academy programs and course updates to provide accurate information to prospective students.

  • Performs basic trouble shooting and contributes to the ongoing improvement of work processes.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree, and a minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience in customer service or admissions.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Personal Characteristics

  • Familiarity with Slate and/or Salesforce

  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills (oral and written).

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Adept at working independently and as part of a team, demonstrating sound judgment and problem-solving abilities.

Reporting Relationships

This position reports to an Assistant Director of Academy Admissions and has no direct reports.

Work Environment

  • Must have the ability to work remote from a home office.

  • Must be comfortable with video conferencing

  • Ability to work standard business hours (Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM).

  • Occasional travel (1-2 times per year, for conferences or team events).

The base salary range for this position is between $55,000-60,000. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location and relevant experience, education, certifications, and years of experience. There is no guarantee an offer will be at the top of the posted range based on the salary analysis.
