State of Montana Accountant in Helena, Montana
* *Position Title: *Accountant TheMontana Department of Transportation (MDT)is recruiting for an Accountant. This position ensures accounting treatment is recorded in accordance with GAAP; maintains accurate and reliable financial statements; establishes and maintains internal controls; conducts financial monitoring to ensure cost efficiency and compliance within the Department’s accounting, budgeting and fiscal bureaus. Ensures state compliance with complex federal regulations, and establishes goals, objectives, and priorities for all accounting functions. Provides technical assistance to division/district financial contacts, budget analysts, and project management to ensure consistent application of policies and procedures. Reports to the Accounting Treatment Section Supervisor. Such as an associate’s degree in accounting or a related field and 3 years of related experience; OR 5 years of related experience. This agency may use a training assignment.
