Description - External TITLE: Administrative Specialist 1 STATUS: Permanent Contract, Full-time HOURLY SALARY: $ 21.32 CLOSING DATE: Open until Filled POSITION NO: 351-30010 DEPARTMENT: Office of Public Instruction DIVISION: School Innovation and Improvement Department LOCATION: Helena, Montana RETIREMENT: PERS UNION: MFPE SPECIAL INFORMATION: This position is dependent on grant funding and utilizes an _employment contract._ Funding for this position is anticipated to be available through September 30, 2024. If additional funding becomes available, the contract may be renewed or extended. * *ADDITIONAL SALARY AND BENEFIT INFORMATION: This is a Public Employee Retirement position. Full-time employees earn 15 vacation days, 12 sick days, state holidays, health and dental benefits and life insurance. They also receive access to a defined benefit - contribution retirement. GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: / /The Administrative Specialist position is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing K-12 educational program data collection, analysis, and evaluation required by the ARP ESSER state plan; program workplans, policies, communications to the field, information systems; and related administrative systems and activities; and administering and coordinating office functions and support services for the Chief Operating Officer and educational program staff. Performs specialized technical and administrative work for the program staff. Overall supervision is provided by the Chief Operating Officer for Innovation, Improvement, and Excellence , but personal initiative and judgment must be used to balance and organize workflow and resolve issues. Competencies: * Knowledge in Excel and Database Management Systems. * Knowledge and skills in computer-based data manipulation and display. * Knowledge of webpage design, development, production, and maintenance. * Ability to communicate both orally and in writing. * Ability to operate a personal computer and general office equipment as necessary to complete essential functions, including using spreadsheet, word processing, database, email, internet, and other computer programs. Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience): * 2-year college or vocational training in Accounting, Computer programming, Webpage Design, Communications or Project Management. * 2 years of job-related work experience in Accounting, Computer programming, Webpage design, Communications or Project Management. * Other combinations of education and work experience may be substituted.
