Indian Education for All refers to MCA 20-1-501, enacted in 1999, to ensure that all school districts and all students in Montana learn about Montana tribes in an authentic, culturally responsive manner. A key element of the law is the collaboration with Montana tribes. Collaboration will also occur with the Montana Advisory Council on Indian Education (MACIE). This Unit works closely with the Standards Instruction Professional Learning Unit (SIPL) within the Teaching and Learning Department and Tribal Student Achievement and Relations Units. __ _Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Behaviors):_ * Knowledge of Indigenous principles of best practices for effective teaching and learning. * Knowledge of complexities of academic achievement of culturally and linguistically diverse students * Knowledge of the national and state history of Indian education * Knowledge of appropriate forms and protocols of collaboration with Montana tribes * Knowledge of school systems * Knowledge of school improvement issues * Knowledge of motivation and supervision * Knowledge of the budgeting process * Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws and regulations * Knowledge of state education standards * Knowledge of principles of effective professional development, and adult education. * Knowledge of the history and culture of Montana tribes. * Knowledge and understanding of working with American Indian communities and students. * Knowledge and understanding of Montana tribal beliefs, values, and cultural practices. _Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience_): · Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Education and/or Native Studies · 3 years of Job-related work experience · 2 years of supervisory experience · Other combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis. _Does this sound like you?_ Please tell us how and why by submitting your resume online, including any veterans or disability preference documentation.When submitting the required documents, you must check the “relevant document” box to ensure your attachments are uploading correctly to the specific application for this position.Documents not requested will not be considered in the recruitment process.
