As part of the Department of Administration, the State Human Resources Division contributes to the strategic and operating success of the State of Montana through partnerships with other agency human resources professionals to provide innovative programs, services, systems, and solutions in support of state employees and agency workforce strategies. This position is part of the Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) team which provides technical analytical and application development support for payroll and other human resources modules of the State’s Oracle PeopleSoft HCM system. Typical tasks are diagnosing and resolving user issues, application design, report and interface development and implementation of newly delivered functionality and custom solutions, technical impact analysis and application of scheduled system maintenance and upgrades. Education and Experience: * Bachelor’s degree in computer technology or related field; two or more years of experience as an IT professional providing application development and analysis services. * Knowledge of or training in the PeopleSoft Toolset including: PeopleTools, SQR, SQL, Application Designer, Application Engine, PeopleCode, XML Publisher, and REST integration is preferred. * Alternative combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Competencies: * experience in technical analysis and programming support for a complex computerized system; * ability to communicate effectively with technical team members, users, and those with little or no technical knowledge; * knowledge and skills in current technology, troubleshooting, system design and development; and * project leadership and planning skills.
