Meta Associate General Counsel, Product in Helena, Montana
Meta seeks a highly motivated attorney who is enthusiastic about technology and its potential for positive impact in people's lives to join Meta’s product counseling legal team. This role will focus on supporting the company’s Central Social Impact team. Central Social Impact builds products that make a positive difference in people's lives, enables the study of Meta’s impact on important societal issues, and shares data to advance understanding of those issues. The position will require significant cross-functional collaboration with product, engineering, policy, privacy, operations, and business teams, as well as other legal subject matter experts. Associate General Counsel, Product Responsibilities:
Build, manage, and mentor a team of attorneys and legal professionals
Lead consensus building across legal and coordinate legal advice across complex and multifaceted legal issues such as data protection and privacy, competition, consumer protection, security, and other global legal frameworks
Review global products, features, platforms and initiatives to provide practical legal risk mitigation strategies for products across multiple jurisdictions at once
Coordinate with public policy, communications, product management, engineering, product marketing, and other cross-functional teams on external communications, legal policy development, and product development and launches
J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar
8+ years of experience as a practicing attorney at a law firm and/or in-house
Experience with one of the following or related legal area: Product or regulatory counseling, consumer protection, privacy, competition, data security, or intellectual property law
Experience building and managing a team
Experience building and scaling legal processes and operations
Experience working on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, delivering practical advice under pressure and operating within ambiguity
Experience taking on projects involving different subject matters and areas of law, developing expertise quickly, and working cross-functionally
